Dear Parents,
Thank you for your interest in our new support group for girls in grades 6-8 called Dartmouth Girl Power! Our goal is to build a safe and nurturing community based on trust and mutual interest where girls can explore a range of issues and topics that affect their lives every day.
Weekly Format: Each of our ten-week sessions are guided by an overall theme that changes each week. Please see current schedule. Weekly session are structured to provide for times of casual discussion, group check-ins, games, projects and theme related topics. Occasionally we invite female speakers in who can inspire and motivate girls to believe in their own abilities to reach their goals.
Cost: While donations are always appreciated to offset materials and snack expenses, there is no charge for girls to attend our group.
Policy and Security: The name of group attenders and all contact information is considered strictly confidential. Girls who attend Dartmouth Middle School are released with the walkers at the end of the school day and walk over to Town Hall around 2:15 PM. When our session ends at 4:30 PM, parents are required to come to the Youth Advocate’s Office, Room 118 in Town Hall, and pick up their daughter. If parents have arranged for another adult to pick up their child after group, we must have that adult’s name listed on our Release Form. (Please see the Dartmouth Girl Power! Release Form.)
Location: Dartmouth Town Hall, 400 Slocum Road, Room 118. 508-910-1855
