The Council on Aging designs, promotes and implements services for Dartmouth's
elderly, persons sixty years and older. The eleven Council members are appointed
for three year overlapping terms by the Selectmen.
The Center is multi-purpose. The Regional Elderly Nutrition Program provides
meals each week day at the center. Ongoing services and programs are many and
varied: direct Case Management, Transportation, Health Clinics, Food and other
Shopping Trips, Senior Citizens Clubs and Tax Assistance to name a few.
The Council continues to serve the community-at-large with the following: Well Child
Clinics, Computer Classes, Town Resident Photo Identification Cards, Food Bank,
Blood Bank Coordination and clothing for the needy and in many other ways of public
service as needed.
The loyalty and dedication of our staff and the many Volunteers allow us to provide
one of the finest Senior Centers and Councils on Aging in the state. We are what is
called a fully Multipurpose Senior Center serving approximately 5,900 elders in the
Dartmouth community. Our motto continues to be, "Any concern of a Senior is of
concern to the Council on Aging" and "We are but a telephone call away for any
assistance you might need."
