The Department of Public Works Engineering Division primary function is engineering design for the town’s public works projects, retaining and all records and plans, construction management, water and sewer inspection, and the inspection of all public works projects, residential, and commercial developments currently under construction.
The Engineering Division oversees and inspects all public works projects and subdivision construction to insure compliance with town standards within areas that are to be presented for acceptance and perpetual maintenance, including the review of all street openings. The Engineering Division reviews all plans and supports other town departments, such as planning, zoning, the conservation commission, and the board of health. The division has several miscellaneous responsibilities, including the issuance of new house numbers, Dig Safe mark outs, responding to public inquiries to property surveys and maps
