Reduce Energy Use & Costs

MassSave Savings through energy efficiencyMass Save

Residents and businesses in Dartmouth can take advantage of the Mass Save Program to save energy and money.

Energy Saving Tips

  • Switch existing inefficient incandescent bulbs with LEDs. An average LED uses up to 90% less energy while also lasting up to 25 times longer than the average incandescent bulb. Residents and businesses may be eligible to have their inefficient lighting replaced at no cost through the Mass Save Program.
  • Turn off laptops and other electronic as well as unplug battery chargers when not in use. These 'energy vampires' can continue to consume energy even when they are not actively charging a device.
  • Install low-flow aerators in your faucets to use less water and heat. Residents and businesses may be able to take advantage of the Mass Save Program to have these installed at no cost.

More tips and ideas to save energy can be found on the Mass Save website.

Schedule a No-Cost Energy Assessment: Mass Save offers no-cost energy assessments to residents and businesses for all types of facilities. An energy assessment of your facility would include the installation of no-cost or low-cost energy-saving products, such as:

  • Energy Star certified LED light bulbs,
  • Advanced power strips,
  • Low-flow showerheads,
  • Faucet aerators, and,
  • Programmable thermostats or discounted wireless thermostats

Your energy assessment may also identify other energy saving measures that could be implemented and help you learn about your eligibility for specific Mass Save rebates and incentives that can help finance them.

Energy Assistance Programs

Residents may qualify for additional financial assistance through the Mass Save Program if they are income eligible. Check to see qualification requirements.
