Local History / Genealogy

We have Dartmouth Town Reports back to the 1890's; the "Chronicle", a local weekly newspaper, on microfilm back to the 1960's; books on Dartmouth and surrounding communities' history; works by local authors, many of them donated to the Library by their civic-minded writers; the Paskamansett Bird Club Files; and many other items of local interest including the History of the Dartmouth Public Libraries by Elsie Haskell (PDF).

Local History: Old Dartmouth Historical Sketches

These sketches include minutes of early meetings of the Old Dartmouth Historical Society and papers presented to the Society covering a wide range of local history topics. We own many of these in the Southworth Library but they do not circulate.
