Our Services Include:

Wireless Printing

Print from your own laptop or mobile device to our Southworth Library wireless printer or our North Branch wireless printer. Pay at the Circulation Desk and receive your prints - 15 cents per page - single sided 8 1/2 x 11 black and white ink only.

Fax Service

Fax Service Available. Southworth Library and North Branch Library (outgoing only at North Branch) (outgoing and incoming at Southworth) - $1.75 for first page and $1 per page for additional pages.

Free Wi-Fi

Access the Internet using our free Wi-Fi. No password required. At the Southworth Library on the Adult level, choose the Wi-Fi network called Southworth Library Upstairs Back or Southworth Upstairs. At the North Branch Library, the Wi-Fi network is called NDL Public and the password is dartmouth19. We have multiple tables with built in plug and USB outlets throughout each library for you to plug in your own devices.

Use the Computers

The library has computers in the adult/young adult area and the Children's Room. The Children's Room computers are for use only by children or children accompanied by an adult. With a SAILS library card, computers may be used for up to 2 hours per day. Guest passes good for 30 minutes may be issued to patrons without a library card by showing a photo id. Please fill out a library card application if you live locally and wish to use the computers regularly.

Printing from the computers costs 15 cents per page for black and white, 25 cents per page for color - print jobs are paid for and released at the printer kiosk. Use the computers to search for books in the library network's online catalog, use the Internet, or software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The library sells flash drives for $2 and ear buds for $2.

Photocopies

At Southworth Library there are two coin-operated photocopiers, one on each level of the library. At the North Branch Library there is one coin-operated copier. Copies cost.15 per page for black and white,.25 per page for color. Takes one or five dollar bills and coins. Reduces and Enlarges.

Book a Meeting Room

At Southworth Library the Elsie Haskell Auditorium is available for nonprofit groups to meet. There is also a smaller meeting room available on the lower level. At the North Branch Library there are 3 meeting rooms, the Suzanne E McDonald Community Room, the Small Meeting Room and the Children's Craft Room.

Self-Service Holds Pickup and Self-Checkout Stations

At both branches, pick up your own holds and check your own materials out at the self-checkout stations.

Smith Corona located in the Reference Area. Please bring your own paper.

Southworth Library Optelec Magnifier

A remarkable device that can magnify any kind of text. Books, magazines, envelopes, can all be enlarged to a size that works for your vision. It is located in the Reference Area. The Optelec ClearView was a gift to the Library in memory of Jens Wilhelmsen.

Southworth Library Microfilm Reader

Located in storage, this is a film reader, but does not print. Please speak to the staff, if you require copies.

North Branch Library Scannx

Scan documents and send files to smartphones, Google Drive, USB Flash Drives, or email with our Scannx. The Scannx accommodates documents up to 11" x 17". Scanned documents may be edited and saved in several file formats including PDF, searchable PDF, Word, JPEG, TIFF, and PNG. The Scannx will auto-crop, auto-straighten, and auto-orient each page scanned. Scanning using this service is free of charge.Faxing using this service costs 1.75 minimum or 1 each for multiple pages.
