Dartmouth Advocates for Addiction, Recovery and Treatment (DAART)
Agendas & Minutes
Agendas are available prior to the meetings. Minutes are available following approval.
Mission Statement
The mission of the DAART is to oversee and coordinate efforts to address the needs of the Dartmouth community in relation to the use of Opioid Settlement Funding, as stipulated in the State-Subdivision Agreement abatement strategies list. Opioid Settlement Funding is to be distributed through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through the year 2038. The efforts of the DAART Task Force will exceed the term of this funding source and will work to secure sources of perpetual funding. The Committee is a conduit to find resources and services for residents in need, not a provider of direct constituent services.
Goals
The Committee shall survey stakeholder groups to identify the immediate and long-term needs of the community. Survey data will aid in determining action steps.
The Committee shall provide resources in the areas of prevention, harm reduction, education, treatment and pathways to recovery for individuals and families. These resources and supports may be provided in a variety of forms, including but not limited to in-person, virtual, reading materials, Narcan.
The Committee may invite non-voting participation by non-residents to share lived experiences and expand our knowledge of treatment options and resources beyond our town borders.
Committee members are encouraged to participate in community initiatives sponsored by the DAART Task Force as well as other similar initiatives in order to bring ideas and resources back to the DAART Task Force.
A sub-sect of this committee will attend local Community Crisis Intervention Team (CCIT) and Greater New Bedford Opioid Task Force meetings to keep abreast of area data trends, seek support for our residents and advocate for community needs.
