2023-2024 Fuel Assistance Program

The Town of Dartmouth is pleased to offer the Fuel Assistance Program to assist residents in the community this winter. The program offers direct payments up to an applicant's home heating provider in an amount up to $300 per household.*


Income Eligibility

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have a household income less than 80% of the State's Median Income, as shown below.

It is highly recommended that applicants determine their income eligibility before submitting an application. 


Application Scoring

Priority will be given to applicants with a household income between 60%-80% of the State’s Median Income with additional considerations for those that have experienced a financial setback.

Second priority for funding will go to applicants whom are elderly and/or a veteran, and have an annual income that is between 100% and 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Application Timeline

Applications will be accepted beginning Wednesday, October 18th, 2023. Application review will begin Wednesday, November 1st, 2023, and continue on a rolling basis based on funding availability. The program will close once funding is depleted.

All applicants will be notified of their award decision by mail. Applicants may also view of the status of their application online by logging into their OpenGov account at https://dartmouthma.portal.opengov.com/login.

*Please Note: This fuel assistance program is funded though the Massachusetts Attorney General's Residential Energy Assistance Grant (REAG) Program. The maximum local award amount is $300 per eligible household. Awards will be adjusted based on the household size, household income and exhibited need.
