To all Property Owners, Landscape Contractors and Pool Contractors be advised that normal landscaping activities (e.g. lawn mowing, the planting of beds, and normal yard work) within Conservation Commission jurisdiction, to include the 100-ft Buffer Zone, are exempted activities under the state Wetlands Protection Act and the local Bylaw. This would also include above ground pools. However, any work that includes earthwork or the excavating, filling and regrading of soils; the removal of woody vegetation; the installation of an in-ground pool, or stonework, should be reviewed by the Commission’s staff for guidance as to how to proceed, prior to this level of work commencing.
