Dr. Cynthia Marland - Director of Media for the Town of Dartmouth
Cynthia Marland attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, The Museum of Fine Arts and she is also a graduate of Tufts University. She holds a Master's Degree in education from Rhode Island College and a Certificate of Graduate Study (CAGS) from Bridgewater State College and a Doctor of Education degree from Nova University. Cyndi established the Dartmouth Art Gallery located in the Dartmouth Town Hall and is a recipient of many local and state awards. Her program development with the Dartmouth Wanderers has served as a valued experience and was a catalyst for her doctoral dissertation An Evaluation of Aging Programs in New England. Her ongoing research in the field of gerontology proves an asset to her recent appointment to the Board of Directors of the Dartmouth Council on Aging.
Mr. Peter Chasse - Technical Manager
Peter Chasse is a graduate of New England Tech. He has worked at DCTV since the inception in 1995. During that time he was instrumental in the design and installation of the robotic system at Town Hall, the new DCTV mobile production truck and the renovation of the new DCTV Studio on Russells Mills Rd.
Mr. Michael Fernandes - Production Coordinator
Michael Fernandes attended Emerson College for a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Television Production. Prior to joining the DCTV staff, Michael was a studio technician at New England Sports Network working with the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. He recently received a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Mr. Derek Frates- Cable Access Coordinator
Derek Frates started at DCTV as a Production Coordinator in September 2006. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Salem State College and a Master's Degree in Media Studies at Rhode Island College in 2011. His directing and work with interns and work-study students establishes DCTV among the region's best, providing high quality broadcasts, particularly sports and music coverage of Dartmouth High School and UMass-Dartmouth. Derek's editing and post production skills has led to much of DCTV's unique and creative programming. His past experience includes work with New Bedford Cable Access Television, Falmouth Community Television, and Westport Access Community Cable. Derek is currently coordinating DCTV's Channel 95's Public Access expansion, which gives Dartmouth residents an opportunity to participate in television production classes and create their own TV shows.
Mr. Michael Moniz- Operations Coordinator
Michael Moniz joined DCTV as Operations Coordinator in the Fall of 2013. Michael has worked with network affiliates in the Providence market and many video production companies in the past. He has over 18 years of experience in the industry. Since joining DCTV, he has produced a Dartmouth 350th update video, assisted in sporting events, meetings and various other shows.
It is most important to note the accomplishments of the small but hardworking DCTV staff. DCTV is fortunate to have such talented and experienced employees.
