The Town of Dartmouth has become involved in the AARP Age Friendly Community movement which supports active aging and making our community more livable for everyone. Through this process we hope to focus our planning and development efforts on opportunities to make the Town an attractive, safe and vital community for residents of all ages, particularly our senior population.
The Town has established a Steering Committee to assess issues and concerns and to then develop responsive policies and programs. We are also working with UMASS Dartmouth Nursing Program to hold listening sessions with residents and to conduct a survey with residents age 55 and over so that we can determine what are your issues, concerns and ideas.
There are several ways that you can tell us your ideas!
- Information, listening and survey sessions at the Council on Aging from 12:00 PM Noon - 3:00 PM on the following dates:
Tuesday, January 30th;
Tuesday, February 6th;
Tuesday, February 13th;
Tuesday February 20th;
Tuesday February 27th.
- Participate in the survey either on the phone or at your home. UMASS Dartmouth nursing students will be calling you to ask you how you would like to participate or you can email the program to set up an appointment at email@example.com.
- Pick up a survey at either the COA or Town Hall and deposit it in the box provided.
- Take the survey electronically. Enter the following address: https://umassdartmouth.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_esXraEhLhPDE6sR
We hope that you will consider actively participating in this effort. Your ideas will help guide the Town’s strategic planning and action items over the next several years.
