The grass is growing tall at the Dartmouth North Branch Library, but this is not due to neglect. It is part of the landscape design created by Lisa Giersbach and Gigi Saltonstall, the landscape architects of the firm G2 Collaborative. The library does not have a front lawn; it has a front meadow which is not scheduled to be cut at any time this year. Some areas around the building and street have lawns, which will be cut as needed once Coronavirus restrictions ease. This is the first growing season for all the plantings at the new library, and they will need this season to become established.
